Florita Robinson’s heartfelt memoir about her remarkable parents, David and Erna Robinson, and the dramatic influence that had on the lives of the disadvantaged youth of Suriname is a “must read” for anyone who has ever questioned if the actions of one or two people can really make a difference in this world. This book answers with a resounding “YES!” Although blessed with nine biological children, the Robinsons voluntarily assumed the role of caregivers to countless young people, treating each and every one of them as if they were their own children. Resources were strained, but their faith in God was boundless. Through it all, they gave hope to children who had none. They gave them a future and helped them become productive, respected citizens in a world that could so easily have forgotten them. There is no better example of true Christian love than that set by David and Erna Robinson. Well-written memoir by a daughter who lived the story with them, I highly recommend it to all, but especially to those who need something positive to restore their faith in mankind.
